Praise the Lord! We made it to Ridgecrest, North Carolina for the American Vision Worldview Super Conference.
A big thank you to the men and women of Rapid Rig Truck Repair, they really went out of their way to get us back on the road. The problem with the van turned out to be a bad alternator instead of the AC compressor. Which means it was much less expensive. Please continue to pray for us as the van is still showing evidence of some kind of problem.
We are planning to be home late Saturday enabling us to worship with our church family on Sunday.

Somewhere in Northern Tennesse (update)
Well, the bad news... Apparently they can't route a belt without including the AC compressor, so... The new compressor will be he tomorrow, noon at the earliest (almost $300) but there is s slight chance the AC will work now.
More details to follow, I'm sure...

Somewhere in Northern Tennesse
We are alive and well in Pioneer, TN! However, we are a little short of our stated travel goal. (about 160 miles) While topping the mountains that run parallel to the Kentucky/Tennessee line our AC compressor decided it was finished, our air didn't work anyway, so we coasted down the mountain to the next exit, running a little hot and wrestling the steering, I suspected a problem with the serpentine belt. If you'll notice on the map I linked to we are really, really in the middle of nowhere! But God wanting to show that He still works ALL things for good to them that love Him and are the called according to His purpose, we find a 24 hour big rig repair shop that would just love to get a break from the big rigs by working on a little rig. The lady behind the counter at the big rig shop even secured us a special rate at the Comfort Inn (she works there too). So, after walking to Perkins for dinner and checking into our rooms we are waiting for the final word (and cost) on our van repair.
We plan to head out in the morning and drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, then on to Asheville.
I'll try to let everyone know if the plans change...

Mama's Hands
By Stacy McDonald
God fashioned her with smaller hands,
So she would know His strength.
He made for her a weaker frame,
When measured by her length.
Her skin is soft compared to man’s,
So her baby’s face should feel
Her velvet touch and gentle kiss
When looking for his meal.
Her “mama voice” knows the songs
Her babies like to hear.
She needn’t sing a single word,
Soft humming keeps them near.
When naughtiness is stirred within
Her little ones at play
Her “mama hand” trains them well,
then teaches them to pray.
At times the days seem oh so long
And fear and doubt attack
And schooling seems to not get done
And household chores just stack.
Skeptics sing their siren song,
Wooing from the street,
Tempting her to forsake her call
And for self glory seek.
Yet, one glimpse upon her little ones
And she sees beyond the day
The shaping of the little souls
Where generations lay
Changing a diaper with holy hands
And wiping a messy face—
Are all part of the tapestry,
This masterpiece of grace
Happy is the godly mother,
Who sees within her child
The gift of His eternal peace
A tamed heart that was wild.
The storms of life fret her not
She smiles at the wind
She knows from Whom her strength will come,
His mercy never ends
God fashioned her with smaller hands,
So she would know His strength.
He made for her a weaker frame,
When measured by her length.
