Pray for Global Warming?

It's time to pray for global warming, says Flint Journal columnist John Tomlinson

If you're wondering why North America is starting to resemble nuclear winter, then you missed the news.

At December's U.N. Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world's top climatologists stood up and said man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?"

I asked myself, why would such obviously smart guy say such a ridiculous thing? But it turns out he's right.

The earth's temperature peaked in 1998. It's been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels.

Meanwhile, the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center released conclusive satellite photos showing that Arctic ice is back to 1979 levels. What's more, measurements of Antarctic ice now show that its accumulation is up 5 percent since 1980.

An Evans Family Christmas Tradition

That's right... sausage gravy! This is another recipe from Jeff Smith's The Frugal Gourmet Cooks America.

"To many people in this country this old southern breakfast favorite sounds like something cheap or inferior to a real breakfast of bacon and eggs. It actually has roots in England and was a common meal from very early times in America. I have tasted biscuits and gravy all over the country, and the meals have ranged from simply inedible to wonderful. St. Louis makes great biscuits and gravy. Atlanta can do it too. Florida? Forget about it. The secret to good gravy is the sausage. Use a quality pork sausage that is low in fat and not filled with heavy seasoning and salt. The dish takes very few minutes to make and it just makes the day. This dish is made in a frying pan. Heat the pan and fry the sausage and onion until the sausage is brown and the onion clear. Drain off all grease except for 2 tablespoons. Stir in the flour and cook for just a minute. Add the hot milk. I heat mine in the microwave. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and then season with salt and pepper. I doubt that you will need much salt, but pepper will be a must. Serve over warm opened biscuits." ~~ Jeff Smith

½ pounds Bulk pork breakfast sausage
2 tablespoons Chopped yellow onion
3 tablespoons Flour
2 cups Hot milk
Salt & pepper to taste

For many years we have started Christmas day with sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast. Enjoy!

A Nation of Thieves

"The bottom line is that we've become a nation of thieves, a value rejected by our founders. James Madison, the father of our Constitution, was horrified when Congress appropriated $15,000 to help French refugees. He said, 'I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.' Tragically, today's Americans would run Madison out of town on a rail." - Dr. Walter Williams

Just because...

... somebody needed to post it!

"Today, a major economic crisis is unfolding. New government programs are started daily, and future plans are being made for even more. All are based on the belief that we're in this mess because free-market capitalism and sound money failed. The obsession is with more spending, bailouts of bad investments, more debt, and further dollar debasement. Many are saying we need an international answer to our problems with the establishment of a world central bank and a single fiat reserve currency. These suggestions are merely more of the same policies that created our mess and are doomed to fail."

"The choice we face is ominous: We either accept world-wide authoritarian government holding together a flawed system, or we restore the principles of the Constitution, limit government power, restore commodity money without a Federal Reserve system, reject world government, and promote the cause of peace by protecting liberty equally for all persons. Freedom is the answer." - Congressman Ron Paul. Speech, excerpts from: The Austrians Were Right, a speech delivered before the U.S. House of Representatives, November 20, 2008

National Ammo Day

http://www.ammoday.com/

A brief explanation - What is National Ammo Day?

November 19 is National Ammo Day.

It is a nationwide BUYcott of ammunition. You buy ammunition. 100 Rounds a person.

The goals of Ammo Day:

The goal of National Ammo Day is to empty the ammunition from the shelves of your local gun store, sporting goods, or hardware store and put that ammunition in the hands of law-abiding citizens. Make your support of the Second Amendment known--by voting with your dollars!

There are an estimated 75 MILLION gun owners in the United States of America. If each gun owner or Second Amendment supporter buys 100 rounds of ammunition, that’s 7.5 BILLION rounds in the hands of law-abiding citizens!

The gun/ammunition manufacturers have been taking the brunt of all the frivolous lawsuits, trying to put these folks out of business. Well, not if we can help it! And we CAN help it by buying ammunition on November 19!
