Off for a Visit

Our Family is off to middle Tennessee for a couple days to visit the Carpenter and Draper families. We're hoping for a tour of Franklin Films and Franklin Springs Family Media. Maybe we'll have some pictures or a few stories when we return.

Water!

So, the water man pulled in this morning. He was not out at the well very long. He knocked on the front door very soon after and said ``I see water 4 feet down and I can`t put water in the well.`` Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Thank you all for your prayers.

The State's Children?

From this article.

Stanford Professor Robert Reich ... also argued the state has an interest in knowing its children grow up to be well-rounded citizens.

"If parents can control every aspect of the kids' education, shield them from exposure to things that the parents deem sinful or objectionable, screen in only things which accord with their convictions, and not allow them exposure to the world of democracy, well the children grow up then basically in the own image of their parents, servile to their own parents' beliefs," he said.

So, it's okay if the state does what is mentioned above...but we sure can't let the parents do this to the "State's children". In light of the last election, I believe we will see more attempts to regulate homeschooling in the near future.

Lord, hear the prayers of Your people.

Our Family's blog may be a little slow

The History of Christianity

"The history of Christianity is a series of victories disguised as disasters. Beginning with the cross." - (researching the source)

Makes Perfect Sense... (FFOL)

...until you actually stop to think about it for a second or two.

“Prices for health care and insurance are rising twice as fast as inflation, twice as fast as wages. That is a terrible drain on everyone, and it is a drain on our economy,” Schwarzenegger said. “My solution is that everyone in California must have insurance. If you can’t afford it, the state will help you buy it, but you must be insured.”

Uh, huh? Rminds me of the saying, "If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."* It would appear that the health care system has stopped moving!

Where's a vacant continent when ya need one!

Franklin Springs Family Media - New Trailer

(taken from the Franklin Springs website)"

"Here’s a first look at our forthcoming documentary about the life of General Stonewall Jackson. The film is slated for a Summer 2007 release."

Colton James did a little historical research for this film. He hopes to do more of this in the future.

Children are a Blessing

Story here and here.

These are good friends Our Family. We've stayed in their home. They have broken bread with us in our house and we have been together many times on the road.

Please note the responses in the Nightline forum.

I wonder how people will react to Our Family when we're labeled as "Taliban"?
